Wow, really? July is almost over? We have kept ourselves pretty busy around here.
We are not in Utah anymore and it is very obvious! We celebrated the 4th with a fair in Arkansas.... It was pretty much how you are probably imagining. Couple of things - If you want 2nd hand smoke - go to a fair in Arkansas :) And this is not to be rude but honestly 90% of the people there were overweight and an even higher percentage were not fully clothed! It's not to be sexy either, that's just what they wear. There isn't a lot of 'fashion' here. Not very many people are dressed up. If you have teeth missing in UT you stand out. Here it's honestly not a big deal. I know people who currently have 30,000 chickens on their land that they're raising for Tyson and someone else who raises alligators! Very high percentage of the people here are black. Most of the black women call Laylah 'Momma'. I used to get confused and think they were talking to me! Laylah is told almost daily "You Go Girl!" when she is walking around. It's pretty fun. I heard that Texarkana is number 2? for highest obesity rates.
Anyway, back to the fair.... I braved it and took my kid by myself. I didn't know how fun it would be and how safe I would feel. Some areas around here are a bit sketchy. But I couldn't sit in a hotel for the 4th! It was HOT but we had fun especially because Kyle came and met us after work around 9:00, just in time for fireworks!
They had bounce houses and we got there before the big crowd so the kids had fun.
All in all it was a success. We were happy to do something with Dad! Oh I almost forgot we finished the night off by saying, "you might be a red-neck if..." We walked and walked to find our car and finally made it to a locked chain link fence. Our car was just on the other side. Another family with kids had the same problem but on the opposite side. So... we passed our kids and they passed theirs OVER the fence. Then we took turns climbing up and over. Ha ha what a way to end our fair in Arkansas. I felt like we fit in :)We love the park at night.
We also go bowling weekly. We love kidsbowlfree.com!
This little one is not nervous to try and pick these up. I have to keep a close eye on her. She can actually hold them, but we have to stay close. That's all for today!
