Fairs, fence jumping, Popsicles, bowling...

Wow, really? July is almost over? We have kept ourselves pretty busy around here.

We are not in Utah anymore and it is very obvious! We celebrated the 4th with a fair in Arkansas.... It was pretty much how you are probably imagining. Couple of things - If you want 2nd hand smoke - go to a fair in Arkansas :) And this is not to be rude but honestly 90% of the people there were overweight and an even higher percentage were not fully clothed! It's not to be sexy either, that's just what they wear. There isn't a lot of 'fashion' here. Not very many people are dressed up. If you have teeth missing in UT you stand out. Here it's honestly not a big deal. I know people who currently have 30,000 chickens on their land that they're raising for Tyson and someone else who raises alligators! Very high percentage of the people here are black. Most of the black women call Laylah 'Momma'. I used to get confused and think they were talking to me! Laylah is told almost daily "You Go Girl!" when she is walking around. It's pretty fun. I heard that Texarkana is number 2? for highest obesity rates.

Anyway, back to the fair.... I braved it and took my kid by myself. I didn't know how fun it would be and how safe I would feel. Some areas around here are a bit sketchy. But I couldn't sit in a hotel for the 4th! It was HOT but we had fun especially because Kyle came and met us after work around 9:00, just in time for fireworks!
They had bounce houses and we got there before the big crowd so the kids had fun.
All in all it was a success. We were happy to do something with Dad! Oh I almost forgot we finished the night off by saying, "you might be a red-neck if..." We walked and walked to find our car and finally made it to a locked chain link fence. Our car was just on the other side. Another family with kids had the same problem but on the opposite side. So... we passed our kids and they passed theirs OVER the fence. Then we took turns climbing up and over. Ha ha what a way to end our fair in Arkansas. I felt like we fit in :)

Nothin makes you feel like summer like watermelon & popsicles!
Laylah doesn't play with toys much. Occasionally she'll pick up a dinosaur or animal and growl like Kalel or drive a car but mainly she prefers to hang on me, eat, read, or try on shoes & clothes. This time she found Kalel's (clean) underwear and decided to try them on!

We love the park at night.
And we LOVE packages from our families!!! Thanks for all the treasures Sara!

We also go bowling weekly. We love kidsbowlfree.com!
This little one is not nervous to try and pick these up. I have to keep a close eye on her. She can actually hold them, but we have to stay close.
She loves watching the balls pop up.
That's all for today!

Ladies and Gentlemen - We have another climber....

This past month a certain little one has begun climbing anything possible in this place we call 'home'.

Now we are used to this. We had to turn our chairs on their sides so that the elder wouldn't climb on our table. However I feel there is a difference. I trusted Kalel. I know people thought I was nuts for not freaking out with some of his stunts but he was very aware of his surroundings and capabilities. He was brave AND smart. Now this little one.... well she is definitely brave but smart?? I'm not quite sure yet. She just doesn't quite get it yet. Like with jumping. She jumps in the pool by herself - seriously (I need to video that) it is so funny. Now she thinks she can jump off other things, but she only knows how to land in water. So she pretty much crumples on the floor but smiles and does it again. We have a little more to watch out for with this one.

This is her dresser. It was an extremely important call...

Notice the cooler pushed up to the AC unit. Just hanging out in the window, but really how cute is she? She covers her mouth like that when she's crying too. I secretly love it :)
All for some buttons.
Another day in the window.

This time joined by her brother, who still loves to pose. It looks dancerish but there is no pointed toe... I think this is a super hero about to blast something...

"Mom! Come here Laylah's behind the TV!" Me thinking.... How can she be behind the TV? OK I'll come see. WOW, she is behind the TV. Nice use of a coffee table.
She needed her binky.
Play place at the mall.
Oh the park. She has definitely graduated. She has always loved slides but now she climbs by herself to the biggest slides.
Oh and she loves sushi :)

We are crazy about this little girl. She has some serious spunk and we are working on her screaming... but mostly she is HAPPY and ADORABLE.

SUummer FuN

Our days are filled with....

The Park - However we can only go around 7:30 PM because it is TOO HOT during the day. I can't handle it and neither can the kids. They get bright red faces and start whining about being sweaty, hot & thirsty 10 minutes into it! So their bedtimes are a little later but it's worth it to be able to get them out!

Swimming, showering and if they're lucky we share ice cream cones :)
Laylah eating 'long rice' by herself. I think she likes it! I put in the last picture to show her tan lines. Lucky little girl! She definitely has her Daddy's skin!
When Mom needs a break we pop some popcorn & watch a movie!
