Halfway through December I was running Christmas errands and the lights in my car started flickering then all the lights on the dashboard came on. Oh no... I parked in the driveway and it wouldn't start again. Kyle tried to jump it and it would die as soon as he took off the jumper cables. We had to get it towed to our car shop. I tried really hard to stay positive. There's no reason to stress about what it 'could be' when maybe it wasn't a big deal! Especially when I'm getting close to having a baby :) Turns out at almost the same time as finding out that it was on the 'big' side of things (alternator and bad oil leak that wasn't easy to fix) we found out Kyle was getting an unexpected 'bonus'. We were very blessed to be able to get our car working again without extra stress on our budget.

Another little blessing was when we were walking into the Robert's Christmas party and I fell... hard! Luckily I was carrying bags and couldn't catch myself as I usually would have, with my wrists. Don't want to give birth with a busted wrist. Instead I landed (it happened fast but based on my battle wounds) on my left knee and the top part of my left wrist. I tripped on a piece of sidewalk that was sticking way up. It was dark and I guess I didn't see it. Kind of crazy how when you're pregnant your balance is non existent. I didn't even have a chance to think about catching myself. I was just suddenly flat. Luckily I didn't land on my belly. I watched closely and didn't have any side effects that made me concerned for the baby. Laylah was kind enough to offer me her Hello Kitty bandaids. It has now been over two weeks and my wrist is FInally healing! I think I did a little internal damage but was able to heal it, the hardest to heal were the actual scratches. Pregnancy definitely changes the body, I became allergic and highly sensitive to herbs and things I have used on a regular basis, but now I am breaking out in huge rashes! Note to self, DO NOT get hurt when pregnant - my body has a hard time healing!

Once I regained composure we had a wonderful time at the family party. I LOVE that they read the Nativity story and have the children 'play' the parts. Kalel was Joseph this year. He was being shy (really odd) and didn't want to participate until I told him I would love to watch him in it. He came back and said Mom, would you really love to watch me? I said yes, so he did it. Halfway through he said, Mom! I'm not scared anymore! Baby Aviana was rested peacefully in the cradle. So cute.
We had fun making treats for all the parties.
I was cracking up when I looked back and saw her face. That is rare for her. But she does pull a face like this when she is laying down and tired. Ha ha. They were both pretty tired on Christmas Eve when we were on our way to Grandma and Grandpa's.
We spent Christmas Eve at my parents house. Kyle took the kids sledding and they LOVED it. I wish it were easier to post videos. I'll have to add pictures of sledding when I get them from Kyle's phone. We had a nice dinner, great time visiting and exchanging gifts. It's fun to see people's reactions and see what is given.
This girl loves her chapstick.
I was shocked they were still up when we got home. I was so glad that they could open their jammies. Laylah got a sparkly pink princess nightgown. Kalel got comfy pants and Ninjago shirt. They both got slippers and loved them. So fun.
Christmas morning! It was so fun and worth all hard work I put into it. (Kyle too but it's more my kind of thing to plan, shop, plan and shop some more) The table with a blue top is Kalel's new lego table. He got legos this year and we made him the table to create on and keep legos in. The top comes off if he wants to move it around, which he does a lot.
This was our big project this year. A kitchen for Laylah. She is always cooking, anything from paper to magnets. I bought an old entertainment center that fits a nook upstairs perfectly. I was going to paint it but was concerned it would chip since it's cheap laminate. There were some other things that were supposed to go into it that didn't happen, but it still turned out pretty cute. I'll keep adding things to complete it as I find them. But she LOVES it. She cooks everyday.
We took the kids to the dollar store and let them take turns picking out presents for Mom, Dad and each other. It's always so fun to see what they want to give. Kalel picked out these glasses with the eyes that have springs on them. They all got a good laugh when Kyle tried them on that morning. Laylah got him a blue kitty. Kalel gave me pink silly string and Laylah gave me a princess chalk board. Laylah gave Kalel a bow and arrow set and Kalel gave Laylah princess bubbles.
After we put together a lego set, chiseled to find a shark tooth, 'cooked', and rested it was time to go to the farm for more fun and to wait for Uncle Michael to call. Kyle took the kids out to sled behind the 4-wheeler. Then he and his siblings set up a jump and he started pulling them to try and jump on their snowboards. Look how beautiful it was. Gorgeous surroundings and beautiful day.
Laylah loved riding with her Daddy.
We have had A LOT of snow this winter. Lots of looking out the window to see how much we have, and seeing pretty snowflakes on the window.
I love Christmas lights. I love to just look at the tree as it's lit up.
We all got sick the day after Christmas. Luckily though we didn't get the flu that's running rampant through UT and SL valleys. We had to stay inside for quite awhile but we would venture out occasionally to see if a package came from my brother. It was FREEZING!
More pictures of Layla dancing. Kalel took videos of her and showed them to me on my phone. She will not dance unless she has on a Persnickety skirt that bounces. That is how she dances, by shaking / bouncing it and twirling. Maybe she does have some Poly blood in her.
More doing my hair and dressing herself in all shades of pink and some purple, this time she added orange shoes. I added a side pony tail because it just seemed to fit.
