Halloween

Dressing up is always fun. Laylah was a different princess / fairy for every event. We had a ward trunk-or-treat, family party, and then Halloween night. Kalel was a dragon, a dragon again and then a knight.

Sadly this was the time that Kyle updated my phone and somehow the backup was corrupted and I lost everything :( Yes I cried. Here are some pictures I pulled off instagram, they will only pull up small? And I can't collage them, so here they all are!

The night before Logan, Macie and Lily came over for a sleepover. My kids LOVE their cousins! So fun. 

-WARD TRUNK OR TREAT- Princess and Dragon.

-FAMILY HALLOWEEN PARTY- We had fun food - Pumpkin soup, rolls (I dyed them orange), Broomsticks, dry ice homemade rootbeer, Frankenstein pudding, sugar cookies etc. 

Oh and the costumes were even better! This is Kyle dressed up as Kim. And yes, those are my clothes. Luckily they are maternity and have a lot of stretch. Driving to the party Kyle was a bit self conscious. He said something about trying to look fat, I said excuse me? :) He said no! I just want people driving past me to think I'm fat and not cross dressing. I said, Honey you are in a skirt...  

I was Kyle and Laylah was Tinkerbell / Princess. I don't think you'll be able to click on this picture, but Kyle is cross eyed and it is seriously funny. Kalel had already taken off his costume at this point. Apparently he was hot.

His shoes looked hilariously huge on me. My foot is the size of his hand... really though.  

He lovingly included a belly button. I looked up one time and saw this. I asked him, is that seriously a belly button? He found a twist tie and made it into a circle and voila.  

-HALLOWEEN NIGHT-

 Trick or Treating in a neighborhood. Such a pretty little princess. I painted her nails and put a little glittery eye shadow on her.

Oh my hubby. He was a woopie cushion for work that day. Hilarious. I actually love to dress up but I was too busy and tires to be creative.

We followed it up with homemade soup in bread bowls at Papa & Tutu's house. Yum. Thanks again!

More Fall 2012

September - October 2012

 I told Laylah she needed to wipe her mouth. She said. I already did! I told her it was still messy. "No it's not". So I took a picture to show her and prove it :) Then she smiled and went to clean it up.

 Now.... it's a funny story! The look on Kyle's face was after he told me... This is not funny. I smiled and said, it will be. Behind this door is our washer and dryer. Well, the washer gets off balance pretty easy. On this Saturday night it quickly jumped in front of the door. So we can not open it more than an inch or so. Well, the other problem is- that is how we get to our garage... which is now shut.... where is the opener? In the car of course. So we are locked out of our laundry room and garage. We tried what we could... but we were not getting in. Kyle's brother was supposed to come over in the morning and I had left a spare garage door opener at their house in case anyone needed to get use it. Perfect. So we just went to bed. The next morning I realized that behind that lovely door is also my pantry. So breakfast? All my flour, oats, cereal etc. I think I ended up making green smoothies, so it worked out. However it turns out my in-laws had cleaned out their drawers the week before and anything that was not recognized was thrown away... including our opener. Sweet. We tried breaking into the garage, and I even called a locksmith. Before I told them to come, my smart husband (who let's be honest doesn't usually find things, he's really great at losing them and I usually find them!) found another opener in my old purse.. oh ya!! That was the one I took out of his car because he never ever locked his car and I didn't want anyone to take that as an invitation to come on in! Opps! So we were able to come in through the garage door. I was glad to have a car, pantry, and laundry room again :)

 This cracked me up, I told Kalel he had to put his bike away. It was raining, so he of course put a garbage can on his head while he ran out there. Ha ha

I should insert here that Persnickety put all their leftover inventory up on the web to sell at a big discount. They needed help filling orders and shipping. I offered to come help thinking maybe 2-3 days a week. Well that turned into at least 45 hours a week for a month? Extra money is always nice, especially when we are saving up for a baby! But wow was I tired, and wow was my house and life just kind of left to fend for itself! 

On a morning that I wasn't working I took advantage of it. The kids could bring toys and the iPad in my bed as long as I didn't have to get up yet. Laylah wasn't quite ready to wake up one morning, she fell asleep on her way out of my bed. Kalel still plays with dragons & dinosaurs, Daddy still gives piggy back rides to bed and Laylah still loves to be shirtless and wear pink. 

September 29th

I don't know how I don't have any pictures!? But the girls (Mom, Aunt Margie, Sara, Corinne, Kim, Danielle and Leah) had a fun mini Girl's getaway! We went shopping, got dinner, had a sleepover at Mt. Aire, and did some more shopping at the Park City outlets! 

 I was slightly jealous when I saw that Laylah had a little date with Daddy that included Orange Leaf :) Yum!

I met Kyle at my sister's house and we went straight to a party for his Dad's birthday. We met up the canyon. We had a big pot luck dinner and we especially enjoyed the zip-line. Laylah wasn't too sure about it. She said it was fun, but she also insisted on not going again. Kalel loved it and wanted to go again and agin. Pregnant mommy even went, just once though. When you are getting towards the end and not slowing down it causes some... concern ;) I thought once was probably enough for the baby!

 October 2nd

 Kyle had a conference in St. George. So we of course packed up, even though it was only 24ish hours. It was so nice to relax in the sun by the pool.

 The kids had fun with glow sticks one night, meaning they found them and cracked open way too many. But Daddy built them a cool fort where they could play with them all night.

October 5th - 22 weeks

The kids and I had fun going to the dollar store and buying a few Halloween decorations. Daddy helped us hang the lanters. They loved being lifted up and admiring the lights. 

October 11th

 We had a fun family night with the Rickenbach's and Bennion's. Since I was practically living there, because of working there, we ended up staying the evening many a nights. This night we switched it up a bit and went to see the new Scheels. My cousin Chris works there and we had fun seeing him. Sadly we were too late to ride the ferris wheel but the kids enjoyed the aquarium, animals and play areas.

October 11th - 23 weeks. Bad lighting but you can still see the bump. 

Another night we had fun at Jump On It. Or something like that. There's nothing like a great big play place where there are trampolines everywhere. So much fun, too bad I can't jump!

I always love hearing Kyle from the other room saying, Kim you've got to come see this. He caught Laylah sleeping like this.

The kids decided to take their hunger into their own hands. I was pretty impressed that he chose to make a pb & honey sandwich and she chose dried cranberries. Not bad. I can't get over how mini she looks up there. 

October 16th

 Kyle's little brother left for the MTC on the 17th. The night before we got together one last time. We won't all be together for a long time. Todd will probably leave before Michael gets back. Crazy. I love singing with Kyle's family. I do not have a trained voice as most all of them do but I still enjoy participating, I just try to stand in a place where they can't hear me :)

 We now get to say goodbye in the parking lot across the street. Here are a few shots showing how goofy Glen and Michael are.

Kalel hugged him and said, "Bye Michael! See you when I'm 7!"

Kyle, Michael & Kevin. It was really bright that day! Michael, you will be missed. He is so funny and entertaining to listen to. I loved hearing his thought, he is a questioner and thinker. I am excited for the experiences he get to have for the next two years! 

Kalel often asks to be 'dropped off at the corner' Then he races the car home. Smiling the whole time. 

My kids have been playing together a lot lately. Laylah laughs and laughs and Kalel loves to wrestle her, as of now she still thinks that's fun. It is so great when the actually play together. They have always gotten along but now they have fun together. :) Here they are 'sliding' down the stairs. 

Laylah still loves her Mommy. She wants to hold me and sit on my at every chance.. all day. There is less and less room on my lap :( 

Welcome Baby ______ Roberts!

On September 13th we went in for an ultrasound and it's ....... A BOY!

Kalel Really Really wanted a brother. I even had to talk with him beforehand to make sure he wouldn't be too upset if it was a sister. He told me he really wanted a brother but he did love Me, Laylah, his aunties and Grandma so it would be ok :) The funny thing is that Kyle's siblings who already have kids have all done the every other thing - boy, girl, boy, girl or girl, boy, girl and now we are boy, girl, boy. We are excited, it will be good to have another boy around. I just hope I will have at least one more girl so Laylah can have a sister, my sister's are my best friends. And I need to use all those cute clothes again :)

September 2012

Once again. Trying to get caught up! Here are lots and lots of pictures with some explaining. 

One thing that I've noticed with this pregnancy is I am TIRED! I could sleep all day long, no problem! Sometimes I try to come up with things to do with the kids that include me sitting / laying down. This time I was lying down while Laylah sprayed my hair with water and brushed it. The other pic is another time she just passed out because she doesn't take naps anymore. She will stay in her room for 1 1/2 - 2 hours playing instead. Then she passes out somewhere after coming out.

We hit up 7 Peaks with the cousins one day. Unfortunately we didn't spend much time there, but it was fun! We also enjoyed a little ice cream from the BYU creamery. Yumm.

I told Laylah she had to eat her food while sitting on her chair. So she took this chair and pulled it up to the kitchen chair. Sure, that works.

1-We have had some beautiful rainbows. 2-Poor Kalel attracts the mosquitos like no one else. I don't even know they're out yet and he's already been bitten several times. 3-My hunny brought home pretty flowers. 4 - Some beautiful tomatoes and peppers from our garden. 

I love this, she looked so relaxed...

Then I came around front and saw this :) 

September 1: Kyle and I got tickets to see the Piano Guys at Thanksgiving Point. My brother -in-laws wanted to get tickets too but they were sold out. So we all went to dinner together first. We had a great time laughing and enjoying delicious Thai food. After dinner we headed to the concert. 

This is what it looked like on our way. And it was POURING rain and Hailing...

We decided to brave it and just have an adventure. They had tents around all their equipment and we were all in rain gear. I couldn't believe it, it was still packed! 

The rain cleared up for a couple of songs and then came back. It was actually still Really fun!

We left our kids with my nephews and nieces while we were gone. After the concert we came back to get them. We enjoyed chatting away some more. I thought Kyle looked pretty cute, so I discreetly snapped a shot ;)

HA HA HA, sooooo while we were talking Laylah walked past me and I noticed what looked like a big chunk was out of her hair. I asked her to come and see me and sure enough, she had chopped a piece from the side. This little girl has always had thin hair, and it still hadn't come in long and thick but it was at least getting better so I could do more with it... So I was trying to not be mad / sad. I couldn't be mad at her because I had never told her not to cut her hair, she hasn't really had haircuts so I never thought about it. She does know she's not supposed to use scissor without me though. :( 

Here's the best part. My sisters are trying to make me feel better and Corinne says Lily has never done it and she's so glad and she thinks she's past that stage. Then she told us about her neighbor's daughter who cut her hair so short there was nothing you could do, and it looked like a boy. We all talked about how it could be worse and I will just have Laylah wear pig-tails for the next 6 months. Well Sara packed up and left, when we were getting ready to leave Craig discovered Lily had also cut her hair. But her's was BAD! 

I went to see the damage. Corinne was laughing and when I saw her I couldn't help but laugh. I was trying so hard not to make Lily cry but seriously... it was so so bad. She looked like her brother Isaac. She CHOPPED her bangs, and then cut the top half of one piggy tail and the bottom half of another. Oh man, it was too much Corinne and I were bawling we were laughing so hard. And I felt much better about my daughter's small haircut. It still makes me laugh thinking about it. Then I got a text from Sara that night telling me Hannah had cut her hair too! We just couldn't tell but when you brush through it there are pieces missing throughout. This is a memory that will be talked about for a long time. And shockingly enough my sister Corinne is AMAZING and cut Lily's hair into the cutest little bob you could imagine. No one would even guess that under that big sweep of hair is baldness ;)

September 3: Uncle Marc is running for Utah State Representative and was asked to be in the Payson parade. We came to help support. It was pretty fun! Especially because I got to be in the back of the truck the whole time :) 

Kalel was so cute walking the side-lines holding a sign. He was riding a bike for awhile too. 

Love me some sleepin kids. They always make me smile. The one with the houses (and the tornado that went off in the background) Kalel was in one half with his bed and Laylah was in the other. They really took naps in there!

September 8th: We had a lot of fun washing the van by hand. But even more fun when Dad started a water fight. We were all soaked to the bone. Laylah was not too happy about it, but then she changed into her swim suit and was better. We even had a neighbor come running over in a swimsuit. Dad got Kalel right on the head a couple of times.

When I made pancakes for the kids Kalel requested letters and numbers but Laylah just wanted 'little baby ones'. She loves anything little, tiny or baby.

We had fun going to Aunt Sara's to swim one day. We picked up Lily to join in on the fun. The kids were fascinated by a dragonfly in the parking lot. Kalel was the only boy and loved scaring the girls by being a shark in the pool.

An almost nightly occurrence is the kids asking Daddy for a piggy back ride up the stairs on their way to bed. Strong Daddy!

This just melted my heart. We are so blessed to have this man in our lives. Honestly couldn't ask for a better husband or father.

September 14th - 19 weeks Kind of a bad belly shot but I realized it had been awhile and tried to take one myself.

September 15th: My amazing sister Sara completed a 100 mile bike race. Wow, that is a long time to be on a bike! We had fun being there at the finish line to congratulate her.

Before Sara's bike ride we had a little baby shower for our family friend Tara. It was so fun!

September 17th - Almost 20 weeks Ya, I know, I look super excited :) Not quite sure why... I don't think I knew my face was in the picture.

September 22nd - 20 weeks A different angle. I was looking down this morning and laughing at how the view changes from my angle.

This is Daryl. He gets passed around the neighborhood and has his own facebook page so we can take pictures of him and tag him. Ya, he's pretty creepy up close :)

She is SO girly. She put both legs in one pant leg and when I pointed it out she insisted that no, it was a skirt. It didn't take too long of not being able to walk to get her to change it back.

Another creation using the zucchini from our garden. Zucchini pizza, made on the grill. I would change a couple things in the future but it was pretty good.
