Wedding Weekend in June

June 2012

We celebrated the beautiful wedding of Kevin & Elsha! Since I was busy chasing my kids etc. I took a bunch of these pictures from their amazing photographer. I still look at these pictures and fall in love with their colors. The color of her dress, hair and his suit were gorgeous together!
The kids didn't really cooperate but we tried! Laylah looks like she's modeling.
Cute cute groomsman, who are always goofing around!
Pretty bridesmaids and groomsman, being a bit more normal.

Im so happy we snapped this picture before we went back to the farm, because the boys changed real fast. I didn't have another opportunity.

 Me and my girl.
The farm looked amazing. I loved all the little details. We worked hard to make this all work! The dang wind picked up and kept blowing things over. We didn't even use the centerpieces because they kept getting blown over. But it still all looked beautiful and was so fun!

These are the lace balls that took Elsha's mom hours and hours and hours to make work. They were awesome though. There was also a cute photo booth center and an amazing love seat that Elsha's Mom re-covered. Kevin & Elsha sat on it during the performances.

During the luau performance the boys all danced in their dress clothes and bare feet, they looked great!

As always the dances/dancers were amazing.

After when we were cleaning up from the reception we lined up the kids and turned on a movie.

We had some fun during the rest of the weekend. I stole these pictures from Leilani's blog.

We had bonfires, ate smores and talked.

Cousin time and loving Leilani being in town!
 Beautiful butterfly on the farm.

Fun in June

I will start with our garden. We have been excited about being able to grow our own organic food where we know exactly where it came from and what has or has not been added to it! It started as a lot of dirt and weeds. We added the black plastic and watering system.
We have loved loved our spinach! It has been so nice to go out and pick it for shakes, salads and sandwiches! We have a lot of bamboo growing, which is practically impossible to get rid of. It will grow right through the leaf of the spinach.

Oh the things you randomly find... I was really confused as to what this could be at first. Then I finally figured it out. A marker. Laylah was the culprit.

New haircut! And the other is a skirt I made for Laylah to wear to Uncle Kevin's wedding.

Laylah fell asleep with her hand in her bowl and Kalel was so cute in the jammies waiting for his Auntie Malia to pick him up and take him home for a sleepover!

Crazy girl thinks she can climb to reach the fruit snacks. And HUGE news she is now potty trained!! Yippee! She loves her tinkerbell underwear :)

We finally got the kids a bunk bed. The remains from their old bed became forts and things. Kalel took a nap in his fort.

Good Mom / Bad Mom moment. I got back from getting my hair done by Kanani (she is fantastic!) and when I got home Kyle went to play basketball around 9. I should have put my kids in bed but instead I took the kids to buy fries because they sounded yummy! They thought I was the coolest!

Good old Papa Glen loading all the kids up for a 4-wheeler ride!

Shower for a beautiful bride!

I am pretty tired so this is going to have to be short... on words, not pictures! I didn't want to filter through, so here are all the pictures I took!

I was able to help my sister in laws throw a bridal shower for my soon to be sister in law Elsha. She loves vintage and neutrals, and so do I! So it was so fun. It was nice to spread out responsibility so we could make it really detailed. I thought there was a picture taken of all the girls, but I don't know who has it?

We decorated using things from my sister Corinne's house (thanks again! I really went and started taking things off the counters, shelves etc.) and then the rest of us brought anything we thought we could use from our own houses. Each table had a piece of burlap and little pictures of Kevin & Elsha pinned on with clothespins. After that, each table was different and we just added and changed as we wanted to.

I loved this idea from Kanani & Casey. They brought a dresser (the guys think we are all nuts but they are still nice and carry stuff for us!) And we decorated the top and then put gifts in and around it.
Drinks table. Loved the mason jars tied in a simple bow with burlap and finished with a blue striped straw.
I never got a good picture before people came (we were running around like crazy even when they got there) but this is where we had the food. We used crepe paper and I made the tissue balls that we hung from above.

Kanani made these cute silhouettes for them.
I made her these candy/ treat dishes. I have some too and love them. I just keep them on my counter for decoration and use them for treats, holidays or parties too.

Pretty girl wearing this amazing crown from my sister's friend.
Funny funny story. Kyle came back to the farm at the end of the shower and Laylah showed up like this. There is a huge hole / rip in her shirt. My first thought was she had ripped it on a fence but there were no scratches on her belly. I asked her what happened, "I don't know!" My second thought... Laylah where are the scissors? "Dad has them." So that's what happened. I later confirmed that Kyle found her with scissors just cutting a hole in her shirt!? Mental note move the scissors even HIGHER. Sad day, but it could have been worse. And at least I didn't find her because now it was all over and I didn't need to get mad! :)

Laylah and Liv were missing so I went hunting. I could her them answer but couldn't see them. Finally I found them just talking and playing on this fence by the fields. They will be good friends!

Mother's Day & Such

We did a little photo shoot on Mother's Day. I wouldn't say any of the pictures were perfect... Starting with the fact that Kalel had already changed out of his clothes, and then Laylah's poses which were cute and I don't know what Kalel's doing, and eventually my head was cut off.. Other than that they are fun!

I have been really sick and felt like the kids needed to get out. We enjoyed a fun day at the park. I just love watching them play at the park, but I've had really bad allergies this season and just stay outside as long as I can stand it!
They loved it though. They are very patient with me!

This little guy is such a treat. This was taken from a video of him hanging out on my bed making up and singing cute songs he has made up about "our Savior."

He is still mostly a healthy guy. He is eating spinach we just picked from our garden. He thought it was great! It was delicious actually. It's sad it won't grow through the heat!
 ~ AIR SHOW MAY 2012 ~
We were really excited for the Air Show at Hill Airforce Base this year. We decided it wasn't worth it to pack up super early and stand in line so we had a slow start. I think we got there around 12? Well it was POURING rain. We waited in the car for a bit. We had some family already there giving us updates. They had to keep all the planes down until it passed. We finally decided to brave it and go wait in the hanger until it stopped.

We were all socked within minutes. We passed crowds and crowds of people walking the opposite way telling us we were crazy. It was a really long walk.

But we made it! The rain finally passed and it was beautiful! Definitely wet but worth the wait. Tons of fun.
Laylah did not like how loud it was. She had her fingers in her ears most of the time. She wasn't complaining, even in the bottom picture she was just chillin like that. She did like to see the airplanes, just didn't enjoy the noise. She still tells me about the loud airplanes.

Kalel and Jason went up the the cockpit and got the see the million buttons and flips up there.
It was cold, wet, loud and So Much Fun!

A couple of random pictures. Laylah loves to wrap things up and carry them around. Things like babies, kitchen utensils, Kalel's cars, any toy and anything she comes across really. She uses wet wipes a lot to wrap things, or dish towels, blankets, or anything shaped like one, etc.

Yet another 'story of my life'. Laylah told me proudly that she was cooking with the eggs. Hey, at least most of it made it into the bowl! And there is a never ending supply of messes around.

~ MEMORIAL DAY ~

The night before Memorial Day we headed to the cabin with my Mom and sisters. We had a fun relaxing evening with family!
The next morning we headed out to help Kyle's grandparents. We cleaned out their house - big time. It was fun seeing treasures and seeing the family come together to help. Afterwards we went to Uncle Steve's for a pot luck lunch and swimming. Laylah was in the pool for hours (3+) and has a great tan to show for it. Lucky lucky girl :)

She also has a love for her Uncle Michael.
